When couples book their engagement session they have the option of sunrise or sunset. Almost always, people choose sunset. Who wants to get up at the crack of dawn, ready for their close up? Not many. However, for the brave few, sunrise can create some absolute magic. This Sweetwater Creek engagement session shows the payoff of a moody morning adventure.
Located just to the west of Atlanta, this state park gives you mountain vibes without going even an hour outside of the city. In the morning, you’ve got the place to yourself. If you’re lucky, the fog rolls in and fills the creek. Not only does this make for great lighting for your photos, but it sets the mood!
I love when couples aren’t afraid to get dirty. With a Sweetwater Creek engagement session, you’re going to get a little wet! You’ll spend the morning hopping around on outcroppings and dipping your toes in the (cold) creek.
The hike in is pretty easy. You’ll have plenty of options to stop and head out on the rocks. If you want the look of North Carolina without the drive, this is a great option for an adventure session.
Fun fact: what you don’t see behind the scenes of this photo is me wading waste deep in the very cold creek to got the shot. Being an adventure photographer sometimes means getting soaking wet at 7:00a. I’m not complaining!
