The Pacific Northwest is just one big playground for adventure elopements.
Cannon Beach is certainly no exception to this. In true PNW fashion we got sun, wind and rain during Callie’s coastal boho bridal session. The mixture of weather created some killer inspiration for a Cannon Beach Elopement. This is a rad destination for adventurous couples looking to say ‘I Do’ on the west coast.
This is a popular location, so weekday sunrise and sunset will give you a bit more privacy. It’s a really large area though so you can easily find a little nook for you and your love. You get a variety in backdrop with beach views, mountain views and, of course, famous rocks jutting out of the sea. There are also plenty of options for amazing cabins to get ready in nearby. You can even hit up the brewery after your elopement on the beach for a celebratory brew. I’m a fan of Public Coast Brewing!
A short drive from Portland, Oregon
A Cannon Beach Elopement is definitely an accessible way to still have an adventure elopement if you don’t want to hike a ton. The short hour and a half drive from Portland, Oregon makes it easy for your closest friends and family to join you in the PNW. I’d definitely recommend adding a day or two in Portland. It’s a quirky city with great shopping and plenty of delicious coffee to keep you going. PDX is also my favorite airport in the world, but who’s counting. You can explore the Columbia River Gorge for more hiking and more waterfalls than you can keep track of.
Laid-back details for a Cannon Beach Elopement
Callie found her dress at a festival. She got so many compliments on it while we were shooting. Her flowers are from Trader Joe’s and she borrowed my trusty travel hat. All that to say, you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on your day especially if you are down for a boho adventure elopement. It can be a pretty laid-back day while still capturing amazing photos. Don’t be afraid to have non-tradition details like Callie’s romantic blush dress. You’re going to get your feet wet and sandy and your hair will be wind blown. It’s all part of the fun!
Looking for an adventurous bridal session? This is the perfect way to get amazing photos in an epic location without the stress of the wedding day.
