After my own Iceland Elopement, it was an absolute dream to celebrate another marriage in my favorite country.
My husband and I spend weeks trying to nail down a location for our nuptials. We knew we wanted to get married in the winter and we wanted a remote location that offered both mountains and ocean. Iceland was the perfect match. When I got Tinsley’s inquiry for their adventure elopement, I truly couldn’t contain my excitement. To see a couple experience a location for the first time is one the best parts of my job. I’m more than an Iceland Elopement Photographer. I’m here to show you the culture of a country and make sure you have the experience of a lifetime. Even in the dead of winter. Also, how cool is it that her first name is my last name and company name? It was meant to be.
Winter Elopements for the Win
If you’re brave enough to dive headfirst into the Icelandic Winter, there’s a good chance you’ll be rewarded with the most beautiful wedding day you could ever imagine. With flexibility and lot’s of layers, Tinsley and James tied the knot with one of the world’s greatest backdrops. With surprisingly warm weather, they said ‘I do’ at the Budir Black Church while the wind and mist engulfed the mountains outside. The unpredictable environment calmed just in time for couples portraits and an trip to the Black Sand Beach out on the peninsula.
A winter elopement in Iceland allows you even more privacy in the off season. The tourists aren’t out in full swing yet. Rolling the dice on the weather isn’t as scary as it sounds if you have an experienced elopement photographer that’s there to offer all the backup plans. Couples can choose from unique beaches, plenty of waterfalls and snowy vistas for their once in a lifetime trip to Iceland.
